And then it's reaching

Current temp: Warm.
Conditions: Sunny with clouds.

So. News broke this week that the European Space Agency's Mars Express orbiter had taken definitive photos of the infamous Mars 'face', and that it was debunked once and for all. "The face remains a figment of human imagination in a heavily eroded surface," they said, in a statement. Oh, really. It's almost turning into some kind of Rorsarch test. One version of the image will show a flat craggy mountain, another will show a raised platform with a (admittedly, ruined) design on it. And if you squint and turn your head a little to the left, it's an Egyptian pharaoh! It's not entirely clear. I don't really support the idea of spending the billions of dollars to send astronauts to other planets (the mars rovers seem to be doing a fine job), but if there were ever a place not on Earth to send some NASA jock with a camera, this is it.

Go here for more details.

Iraq.
Oy. The latest poll over there has revealed that the majority of Iraqis want the American Army out. I still don't agree with that, but you have to admit that the more they call for the Americans to go, then perhaps they should. Not sure if the Republicans are going to learn anything in the long term if they just cut and run, but is the army really going to go out there and stop a civil war if one should start?

Paying fines.
Okay, there's two parts to this, and I don't want to get into too many details. The first is that if the authorities really wanted to teach the people lessons, then instead of a big fine for breaking the law they'd have a small fine and a threat of a bigger one in 30 days if the problem hasn't been fixed. But of course they don't do that, because it would generate less revenue, and we can't have that. Idiots. And the other part is about why it's best to pay fines on a Friday. See, you pay the fine on Friday, you're free. And you get to spend the weekend doing whatever you want, being pissed about the unfairness of it all. But if you want until Monday, you're going to be thinking about that fine all weekend instead, and that's bad.

Car status.
All back to normal, no problems at all. Passenger door still sticks a bit.

Special bonus music segment: Twisted Transistor.
Don't you hate it when you like a song, don't like the album, and the radio stations don't saturate the airwaves with the one track you want to groove to? Well thank Frank for YouTube. Somewhere, Out There, some fifteen year old punk has probably put the track onto youtube. Okay usually with him and his friends jumping around in the background, but at least it's free. So here's some Korn for the soul:
